DARPA--Integrated Battle Command (IBC) Program

The Burlington unit of BAE Systems has been selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for Phase 1 of the Integrated Battle Command (IBC) Program.



The IBC Program will provide military commanders a suite of software decision support tools, helping the commanders and their staff understand the political, military, economic, social, information and infrastructure effects of various potential courses of action that might be employed in a situation. IBC will use existing BAE Systems technologies in modeling and simulation, automated planning and visualization.

BAE Systems received one of two competing contracts valued at $3.5 million each for Phase 1. Phase 2 will be competitively awarded to a single contractor at the conclusion of Phase 1 in June 2006. .

The IBC tools will be installed and evaluated at the U.S. Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, Virginia, during Phase 1."
