Columbus, Ohio: Agents Intercept Heroin Shipment---DEA CONTROLLED SHIPMENT

Columbus, Ohio: Agents Intercept Heroin Shipment

: "Federal agents intercepted a shipment of heroin Monday they say arrived in northeast Columbus from Afghanistan.

The drugs were hidden inside a book which had been hollowed out.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency says it first learned about the single kilogram of heroin (2.2 lbs) from its office in India. The DEA and Columbus Police made a controlled delivery to a house on Marcia Drive with help from the U.S. Post Office.

'What we do is substitute a sample of the narcotics in the package, we take out the bulk of it and then we deliver it. And then we arrested the person who took delivery of it,'

explained DEA agent Tony Marotta.

Authorities then arrested the man they say accepted the delivery, James Arthur Tinsley. They say the drugs have a street value of up to $500,000.

Investigators say Tinsley is currently on parole for money laundering and drug related charges. He's now being charged with possession with intent to distribute, and could now face 10-years-to-life in prison if convicted."
