On to the Edge...Neo-Nazis at work :: Choice Changes :: Conscious Choices for a better world

original

Paul Edge has written the following commentary on the current congressional focus to define marriage in an amendment to the constitution. It's a great read. Jesus, whose perception for discerning hypocrits was miraculous, would be proud of him.

Here we have a social minority, for the large part patriotic, hard working, decent, honest human beings, asking for what at the end of the day is a fundamental right of all human beings on this planet, to love someone in a monogomous relationship that is recognised by society, to enjoy the same rights that I and millions of other people in non-same sex relationships enjoy. That`s it. There is no middle ground on this issue,

The Gay Marriage Amendment - Nazi Ideology with Neocon Spin

June 5, 2006, 12:35 pm

"However, all things which take place in the sexual sphere are not the private affair of the individual, but signify the life and death of the nation" - Heinrich Himmler, Germany, 1937

"Why marriage today? Marriage is for our society that union between a man and a woman, is the cornerstone of our society." - Bill Frist, America, 2006

As the war in Iraq descends from "shock and awe" to "shock and disgust" in the American psyche, as the recent revelations from Haditha and Ishaqi, added to Fallujah, Abu Gharib and countless more examples begin to finally hit home to the American public as to what is being done in their name , the Bush cartel has decided that the most immediate and important threat to the American way of life, is, unbelievably, Gay Marriage.

Not the 9 trillion dollar debt, not the illegal war in Iraq, not the assault on the constitution by fundamentalist right wing activist judges aided and abetted by Alberto Gonzales and the American Taleban, not global warming, not poverty, not the 80% of New Orleans that still remains destroyed by Katrina, not....christ, I could go on but anyone with a computer has seen the list of crimes against the American people and the people of the world the Bush Junta are guilty of trotted out endlessly on web sites, no apparently the biggest threat to America is gay marriage. Well hallelujah, praise the Lord, thank you Jesus for giving the American Taleban a real social cause to worry about. Homosexuality!!! That abomination that deserves to be dealt with now today, to hell with the war in Iraq, homosexuals are evil. Homosexuality isn`t an abomination, but I`ll tell you what an abomination is, the murder of innocent children in the name of freedom and democracy, thats an abomination. Black people floating dead in the streets of an American city, that was an abomination, two loving individuals who want to declare their love to each other in front of their friends and family is not an abomination, the fact that politicians like George Bush and his ilk want to make this non-issue into an issue, whilst US troops and Iraqi civilians are dying by the day, in a war started on lies, thats an abomination.

The fundamentalist Christian right will be singing from their churches whilst worshiping their version of the devine, a deity that believes in death, murder, abuse of the poor, discrimination, genocide, materialism and hatred. I refer constantly to Corinthians when dealing with these hateful bigots, because if we are in end days, whatever that means, then Corinthians called it right: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workman, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising then that his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve". I always find with Fundamentalist Christians that they want to "pick and choose" their scripture. It`s like they don`t quite understand what they are reading, as Bill Hicks would say "You ever notice how people who believe in creationism look really unevolved?", and the intelligence level of these people does tend to reflect that in their "arguments".

I have no problem with Faith, none whatsoever, however Benjamin Franklin warns "To Follow by faith alone is to follow blindly", and when we are dealing with fundamentalist Christians, they profess to have "Faith", they profess to be good people, following God`s word, or should I say, those parts of God`s words that can be made to fit a doctrine of hate, hypocrisy, bigotry and intolerance (though I hate to point out the obvious, you are no more following God`s word by following a third hand translation of Greek and Hebrew Scripture than you would be following the advice given in a Thomas the Tank Engine book). As Mahatma Gandhi stated, “Faith... Must be enforced by reason...When faith becomes blind it dies.” Unfortunately when dealing with Fundamental patients, reason goes out the window. As Friedrich Nietzsche observed; “A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.”

The Gay Marriage issue is just a typical example of the rampant racist bigotry that is central to the beliefs of the fundamenalist Christian world and the Republican party, and as such, whilst I have no doubt whatsoever that this is nothing more than a political ploy by Dubya and his gang of cronies to shore his collapsing fundamentalist base of supporters and divert attention from the unmitigated disaster that the war in Iraq has become, however, it also exposes the hypocrisy that is endemic within the American Taleban, who currently control the Neocon cabal that is running America. The basis of the call for a constitutional amendment is that "marriage is between a man and a woman", however the precendent for the insidious motivation behind this action has already been set, namely the amendment of the Criminal Code in Germany in 1935, known to all historians as Paragraph 175.

Now whilst the entire bible NEVER makes this definition, you can scan from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation, and not see even a single same-sex marriage mentioned, and I defy all you Fundalunatics to prove me wrong (side note - Whilst I am fully aware of the Leviticus example, which purportedly denounces Homosexuality, however, far be it from me to make a salient point, Leviticus 19:20 states - And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free - in the aformentioned quote from Leviticus, we see slavery approved, and, more importantly, if a man has sex with an engaged slave woman, scourge the woman, but don't punish the man. (Even if he raped her?) - You expect me to take other quotes from what is patently a seriously disturbed lunatic being given a crayon and some papyrus??).

The question that needs to be asked is who gives a flying *****? This goes to the very essence of this subject, and more importantly, shows the true motivations of those who claim to be "acting in God`s name". George W Bush is an opportunist, a scam artist, any attempt to elevate this spoilt, rich, sub-intellectual punk to anything else is wrong. His quote prior to his run for president to Texas evangelist James Robinson showed the sheer depths of his willingness to use whatever means necessary to get elected, irrespective of any actual sincerity or integrity: "I feel like God wants me to run for President. I can't explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. Something is going to happen... I know it won't be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it." George Bush was elected by the Fundalunatics, the American Taleban, a hateful, spiteful and bigoted section of America who base their entire doctrine of Rapture on a heretical conman named John Nelson Darby, an Irish lawyer turned Anglican priest, in the 1830s. As Dubya stated "You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on”. In sales these idiots would be referred to as the "Golden 15%", the people who will buy anything, no matter how ridiculous or worthless it is.

The Golden 15% also happen to be the most stupid, ill informed, sanctimonious, xenophobic, jingoistic and ignorant bigots in society. They also tend to be overtly religious, believing they are the chosen few and only they really understand what is going on, this belief based on dubious interpretations of scripture by their insane "ministers". As a result, the fundalunatics have no doubt that they alone are God`s chosen people, and the rest of us, irrespective of how we live our lives and how we contribute to society are the ones who "don`t understand". I have often thought that "Fundamental Christian" actually meant give money to a mentally disturbed person calling himself a Christian, which ironically is how most Teleevangelists get their "contributions (Fund - Give money to - A Mental Christian). These people, then use the name of God to commit atrocities to other people around the world, and to their own fellow citizens, and justify it as God`s will. Sadly, in a world where the vast majority have lost faith in the political process of democracy, this ignorant minority of deranged fundamentalists tend to become very important in the illusion that is our democratic process. Here we find another classic example where in order to perpetuate his criminal regime, Dubya has to revitalise the most bigoted and intolerant section of society, the American Taleban, and what better way to do it than to create an enemy, Gay people. This proposed constitutional amendment is just another stage of the bogus 'war on terror", as Herman Goering said at the Nuremburg Trials, "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." What you will see unfold in America this week is a downplaying of the seriousness of this whole issue. Some people will sanitise it as "revitalising the Republican base", you will hear the quislings like Hannity, Limbaugh and O`Reilly spout this phrase over and over again on the TV and radio, others will argue that "marriage is between a man and a woman" (although I have lost count of the amount of times I have heard the phrase "a marriage of business and..." from Republican shills - but hey, lets not let facts get in the way here shall we?) , whilst not actually offering any rational discussion, instead repeating this phrase over and over again. However, this is nothing more than an illusion, it is following the same old formula that the facist Republican regime has used in its 6 years in power. Invent an enemy, divide the American people so they are fighting amongst themselves, when this objective has been achieved, it`s business as normal. This is an issue I believe needs to be brought to the forefront and protested, with the same fervour that went into the anti-Alito nomination, because it goes to the very core of who we, as a society, are. As I write this, 2474 US soldiers and over 100,000 Iraqi citizens are dead in an illegal war, started based on Goering`s simple philosophy " the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked", and now the very same psy-op is being used, to determine whether the American public at large, not the 15%, but the other 85% that need to be subdued and controlled for the final implementation of a police state, are at this stage yet.

I have often wondered about the lack of response to Katrina, was it incompetance or a calculated attempt to measure of how much hatred and discrimination was in America and the American people? No, the naysayers will go, the American government wouldn`t do that to its own people, wouldn`t they? New Orleans was a liberal city with a huge gay and black population, the two most demonized communities in America. The Nazi persecution of the Jews only happened with the tacit approval of the vast majority of Germans citizens, we are witnessing nothing more than a start of a repeat of this type of persecution. The issue here isn`t whether gay people should get married, the issue is whether the vast majority of Americans have been conditioned, as the German public were, to view their fellow countrymen as not worthy of the same rights they are. This has nothing to do with religion, this has nothing to do with what is good for society, it is about promoting a culture of intolerance, hatred and bigotry. Katrina was the first real test as to how far down the line the nazification of the American people had gone.

A lot of commentators draw parallels to the rise of Hitler in Germany and have written off America as doomed. I personally do not subscribe to this belief, because the differences between pre-Hitler Germany and pre-Bush America couldn`t be further apart, and whilst I totally agree there is a power grab going on, I have repeatedly argued that this will ultimately fail. Had for example, the Jewish section of Berlin been hit by a massive earthquake in Germany in the 30s, the vast majority of German people would not have voiced outrage the way the vast majority of Americans did over Katrina, and whilst Katrina was a horrendous experience, it provided proof positive that there is an inherent decency in the American people that will, when required, override all outside influences, this is what has made America so strong and enduring and why I believe that the Bush regime are doomed to fail in their nefarious agenda.

Tolstoy accurately stated that, “Before we can study the central issues of life today, we must destroy the prejudices and fallacies born of previous centuries” and the Gay Marriage issue is as important for many reasons. That`s it. There is no middle ground on this issue, either you are an intolerant, racist sanctimonious bigot who believes that same-sex marriage is wrong, in which case you also probably believe that mixed race marriage is wrong, that black people are inferior and that blowing up and mutilating innocent women and children in the name of Freedom and Democracy is right.

Jesus, Martin Luther-King, Ghandi and many more great men throughout history have repeatedly shown society as a whole that this type of thinking leads to war, death and hatred. Believe me, this is a systematic assault on people`s rights to be different, to be individuals. First it was moslems, then the black and poor in Nola, now it is gay people, next will be immigrants, then anti-war protestors, then black people, then pro-choice supporters and so on. We are witnessing nothing more than a reincarnation of a Nazi belief system, one that believes that unless you think like us, dress like us, act like us and pray like us, you are nothing more than a second class citizen with no rights whatsoever. You think I am being dramatic far from it, in respect of Gay Marriage, there is no religious basis for refusing that right, there is no humanitarian basis for refusing that right, there is no sociological basis for refusing that right, when you apply the Occam's Razor principle to this namely, " When faced with two or more possible explanations for a situation, choose the simpler one", the real frightening motivations behind this issue become only too apparent.

Ultimately this whole issue boils down to one simple question, Is America truly the land of the free, that she claims to be, a place where tolerance, honesty, decency and respect for your fellow man is the dominant characteristic, or is America a repressive, bigoted, intolerant, racist and evil society, where freedom and individual rights have been replaced by a culture of oppression? Rabbi Bernard Mehlman stated, "Homophobia and Anti-Semitism are part of the same disease." When any society deems any members of that society as second class citizens, and deprives them of any basic right based on colour, creed, race, gender or sexual preferences, than that society is no longer civilised, that society is no longer democratic, that society is no longer free. Andrea Dworkin warns that, “Genocide begins, however improbably, in the conviction that classes of biological distinction indisputably sanction social and political discrimination”, and this is why it is so critical that the American people stand up and protest this heinous proposal. I personally believe that this kind of bigoted ignorance is not what people truly want, and, as has been demonstrated time and time again throughout history, the people of America will do the right thing.

Peace
