True believers?

original

I am amazed that, in this post 9/11 political atmosphere, there is still a segment of the American people who believe in what the Bush administration tells them.

I can understand the wealthy who are waiting for their large tax cuts to become permanent.

I can understand the large corporations and the people working for them who are prospering, especially those involved in the war industry, for supporting this administrations's every move.

I can understand the overzealous religious groups who believe in what they are told, in God's name, as if God actually sanctioned the violence, turmoil and hatred that is being produced.

I can understand conservative talkers, such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, and Fox News pounding the American people every day with this administration's neoconservative agenda and providing excuses for their incompetence. At the same time, they proclaim the rest of the media are politically biased. They are good at their craft, but I take issue with their loyal listeners who call them great Americans.

In one way or another, the previously mentioned people benefit from this administration's policies. But I cannot understand the rest of the population who don't benefit, but still believe. Are they loyal supporters or a flock of sheep?
